Assemblages
As the prints developed, the printing blocks became objects in themselves. By combining them with found objects, new work emerged, producing these assemblages. By juxtaposing different objects a rich vein for exploration was discovered because these things collected together were more than the sum of their parts. They are largely autobiographical.
The boxes are simply the frames needed to protect and isolate the three-dimensional objects. Sometimes the objects themselves provide a starting point, sometimes a piece starts with a box.
Recently the wording in the titles has been developed, treating words as another object for the viewer to consider.
The logical end to this development could well be poetry itself, particularly of a very visual kind.
